This is 100% correct. When I interview a kid for a job, I look every bit as much at how long it took him to graduate and whether he worked a job during college as I do at his grades and classes. I will take a 2.99 four year grad who worked twenty five hours a week to pay his tuition every time over a five and a half year 4.0 student who had his college paid for by daddy.
A friend of mine graduated in Mechanical Engineering with a 2.7 and he was a little worried about his GPA. When he went on an interview for the job that he ended up getting, the guy pretty much told him right there he had the job and he told him "well my GPA isn't the best. I just want to let you know it is 2.7". He worked throughout college. The guy who eventually became his boss told him "oh, I am not worried about that. It was good enough for you to graduate".
As a student, all you should worry about is doing as best as you can. In college, you just have to put the work in and you will get through. Someone who has Fs simply didn't put the work in.

Nothing but truth right here.
I wish someone would have told me this when I was 19, would have saved me a whole lot of stress and money on tums and viviran.
