Yes and No, i 100% agree with your stats , i Made the point in a separate post. But I do think there is a valid issue regarding police "brutality" or harassment or however you want to phrase it (see the video of the white nurse in Utah being arrested for not drawing an unconscious patients blood w/out a warrant) and that will disproportionately affect blacks and other poor people in part because those groups commit more crime.

There is not an epidemic of blacks being killed by police but there are some individual stories of unarmed and or innocent people killed by police that merit attention.

I do think his whole stance is overblown self righteousness and ultimately does more harm to his "cause" than good.'

But they aren't talking about police brutality. They are protesting police brutality to blacks as if it either only happens to them or disproportionately happens to them. That is the rub. They are full of shite, because it is ludicrous to think it is racially motivated given the stats.

In most cases, they've involved people resisting arrest, but in some you are right, they are tragic. The problem to me is they magically care now because a black person was killed. Had it been a non-black, do you see these players protesting?

It is a large reason race relations are getting worse. America didn't magically get more racist over the past decade because a half-black man became president. It was decisions and actions that made things worse from both sides, but only one side gets blamed. It made me embarrassed to be a liberal in all reality. They kept lumping even blatantly obvious cases of self-caused results of death by criminals with legitimate issues of overzealous police brutality. That only made the divide worse rather than closing it.

The NFL makes this all worse by picking a side clearly, and then letting players go out and make comments that "the owners treat them like slaves" or some such nonsense.
