No inside knowledge, just my thought process.
Orgeron was hired on the premise that he would have top notch coordinators and let them do their job without overstepping. This is the reason Miles was let go because he simply would not let the offensive coordinator run their plays on a consistent basis after the Lee interception game. Alleva knows his job is on the line and was in clear jeopardy after the Troy loss and he had to set the lines straight to save his own arse.
Now the players made an effort over the last two games to play with emotion and heart, the way we are used to seeing at LSU and that goes without saying. It may have been a mixture of the old players lighting a fire under their collective asses and the fact that they saw the difference in the coaching after the meeting.
I for one think the players played like crap in the MSU game and Troy, not as a slap in the face to Orgeron but simply because they had that “here we go again mentality” of the coach holding to tight to the reigns.
