So far it's a procedural. F.B.I. instructor trying to work psychology and profiling into the 1970's bureau (when psychology was for "homos").
Some gory poloroids in the first couple of episodes, but it doesn't dwell on it.
It's really well done.
And the background music is awesome.

I wanted to watch last night but gf thought the trailer looked too gory/intense.
