I disagree.
Danny McBride, one of the co-writers of this film, has said they want to make Michael Myers a mortal antagonist. Halloween II made him into some unstoppable force who survived six shots to the torso without missing a step, a shot to the face, and finally (hypothetically) surviving an explosion and being burned to a crisp in the ensuing inferno.

He did get shot multiple times point blank and fall off a balcony then walk away in the original.
