The area you are talking about is the old Camp Claiborne. We have been camping and riding side by sides and 4-wheelers up there for years. The Loran/trailhead campground is pretty nice and has individual campsites with a fire ring, picnic table, and lantern pole. There are also pit toilets at 2 locations in the campground. Cost to camp is $3.00 per campsite per night I think and there is a self-check station. Keep in mind that most people, if not everyone else, there will be riding the trails on dirt bikes, 4-wheelers, and side by sides and vehicle width is restricted to no more than 50". All that being said, we have been riding the trails and have seen people wearing hunter's orange in the woods off of the trail who I assume were hunting.
