I think the sad thing is that the fans who really care and follow basketball closely know this is the EXACT SAME scenario that occurred with Johnny Jones.

Hire a coach that no one else wanted because of his ties to LSU/Louisiana. Not to mention a coach whose only selling point was his great recruiting.

Agree to completely unnecessary contract terms making it prohibitive to fire the coach when he inevitably can't bring LSU to a championship level program (Jones got a completely unnecessary extension on a 5 year contract after only his 2nd season at LSU)

The inevitable happens and what everyone with a brain knew what would happen from the beginning happens, Jones can't lead LSU to a championship caliber program...

But because of LSU's mentally retarded AD and his decision to keep exactly ZERO schools from stealing Jones by agreeing to ridiculous contract terms, it's cost prohibitive to fire Jones so we have to wait one more year to watch the program sink to rock bottom.

LSU watched Joe Alleva prove his incompetence with basketball then let him DO THE EXACT SAME THING with the football hire.

At this point I can't help but wonder if Joe Alleva isn't some double-agent planted by the other SEC schools to systematically destroy the LSU athletic dept. No CEO of a multi-million dollar entity can be that accidentally stupid TWICE, right?
