was very close, and he had an argument. But its not like he lost out to a big market team such as a Yankee. Chipper happened to have a great season for the best team in baseball

Yeah, his WAR was higher than Larkin, also had more Runs, HR, RBI, and a higher OPS... though like I said neither should have won it that season. Probably should have been Maddux who was unbelievable in 1995, but disregarding the pitcher it should have probably been Bonds, who actually finished 12th in the voting.
