I think the online needs more practice reps to master the zone blocking scheme and the variants imposed by the shifts.
I also think Orgeron, in consultation with Ensminger, has been "proofing and editing" Canada's gameplans, grossly limiting what he can call on gameday.
Again, the finesse of the Pitt offense, which would be so helpful to us right now, requires more practice, especially early on in the season.
This is particularly true if the game plan is working multiple plays off of individual sets. The moving parts must be properly choreographed if they are to mesh. Rehearsal is critical.
Orgeron needs to surrender gameplanning and practice scheduling to his coordinators, particularly on offense. Either that, or just let the season continue down this fkg black hole into which it's being drawn.
Orgeron's choice MUST be to let his guys sink or swim on their merits. Get it done, coach, let it go.
