Men cheat because we like sex and the woman won't give it to us.
Women cheat because fantasy romance books/movies like Nicolas Sparks set up an expectation that men should be EVERYTHING to a woman, read their minds, make tons of money while never going to work, have no hobbies, be a totally involved parent but not get in the way of her, always let her be right, leave his family and be a part of her family, love her more when she gains more weight, etc.

Add in the part where men should come home from work and immediately beg the wife to tell him all about their day around the house while he hangs on her every word and feigns interest and yeah, that sounds about right.
