Places like this and DU aren’t gonna have too many rational people.
Maybe it's wishful thinking, but I think there are more than it appears here. Of course, many of them don't post as often, or at all, anymore, but I would like to think they're present.

I'm addition, I think many of the posters who are irrational, actually know what the rational conclusion is, they just get caught up in the contagion or get reinforced for it.

Bamarep has a thread doubling down that this was 100% a liberal or a Muslim.
And I think he may be a good example. I don't know if he's "rational," but I think he's more rational than his posting suggests. His "dear liberals" threads are what I find telling. I think he has to know he's not actually posting to liberals, but instead posting to those who share his views, so he enjoys the overwhelming support of the chamber.

The issue is that if it’s neither he still doesn’t have any accountability here.
That's always a problem, but there are lines. Clearly, cptbengal's shtick either goes too far or has run it's course. And I found it almost surprising how universal the views of KCT in many of the threads. Of course, judging my the up votes to the whether I'm a "troll or retarded" and the response that said "both," I'm wondering if there is a universal view about me too.

but here as long as you have a certain mind set you can keep coming back
Yeah. But the one thing that I take solace in, is that this is less frequent in policy and issue based threads, climate change aside. It's far more prevalent in the threads that are pretty much "identity politics" or about a specific political figure. Problem is that the policy and issue threads are far less common (so they seem) since the Trump phenomenon. I had hoped it would diminish post-election, but it seems just as prevalent and of course I'm guilty of contributing to its existence so I can't say too much.

The thing that does bother me the most though, which was evident in the Mark Dice "MSM is ignoring Tennessee shooting," is that facts counter to the Chamber's belief often seem to be just as ridiculed, unaccepted, and dismissed as opinions. When facts no longer matter so much as they support some view, then I think we've identified the problem in politics.

Fair enough. I’d like to think they’re more rational than they post like as well. I’ll jab every now and then but look at posters like dale or gthog, they kinda never break character, so I’m thinking they are master trolls with no life or that’s pretty close to everyday thoughts. It’s definitely entertaining, and I’m not as liberal as I come off, but playing devils advocate in a lions den always sharpens my skills I think. I’ve been banned from DU a few times so at least they don’t do that around here

Yep. Agreed here. I see these threads about how the MSM is ignoring an issue often. Trust me I know cnn is bad, worse than fox, i can’t stand our media. But it seems like presenting tangible blatant countering evidence that, yes they are covering this story, is met with “so?” Or “IS IT COVERED AS MUCH AS (instert random similar issue covered more by CNN).” So that’s incredibly odd that a narrative so easy to disprove is just repeated over and over and no one seems to care that it’s not really true ever.
