While the Princess Bride may not be the best movie ever, I would say it's closest to perfect. It blends a bit of every genre together seamlessly, comedy, drama, action, love story, scifi/fantasy, horror and it appeals to both adults and children at the same time without being skewed too far in either direction. It's something both a 40 year old or a 10 year old would want to watch on their own.

Although I love Princess Bride, most women that have seen the movie express a great lack of interest. At least in my experiences. And these chicks are usually in sync with my movie tastes. Princess Bride seems to be the outlier.
