What do you think is actually protected from being surveilled at this very moment? I would say "nothing". If they want to know anything about you, they will get it. Nothing naive about it. We see that with the whole muh Russia thing. Phone calls, emails, internet chat. Who knows?

Besides, technology is always being improved upon.

Disagree. A gun grab would jeopardize our continuance of playing the game. The establishment loses in that scenario.
