The gateway pundit does a poor job of conveying the intent of her statements which is almost worse.

Her point was just part of the "you have white privilege" ideology. In that though white people may think that they worked hard to get where they are at it was really due to their race and position in society and that we must evaluate the extra benefits that races have. IE white people got into law school because of their connections etc which allowed them to be successful lawyers

The issue with this is if we are to honest about all this is then we have to look at affirmative action quotas and say the same

Which doesn't make sense considering that 3/4 of the country is white.

How did I get two downvotes for this?

quote:

While Putman believes that schools chiefly perpetuate these harmful ideologies, she also believes that college professors aren’t powerless, saying they can help undo students’ belief in meritocracy and equal opportunity through intensive re-education.

Professors should teach students “how racism and whiteness function in various contexts, the powerful influence of systems and institutions, and the pervasiveness of whiteness ideologies within the United States,” she adds, recommending the use of “role-play activities” and “readings, discussions, films, and activities.”

quote:

Putman puts forth the idea that Americans are falsely "socialized to believe that we got to where we are… because of our own individual efforts.”

Shes not saying hard work is racist shes saying that if you are white- believing you got where you are via hard work is wrong particularly in the setting of education.

The issue I bring up is then we must apply that across the board given the admission quotas that have been prevalent the past 2 decades
