Basically same thing although I used the fruit as well and mashed it down to add more fruitiness to the drink.
Added cinnamon, cardamom and a serrano pepper as well for spice.

Sounds tasty. I liked their version but it was very crude.
I would compare it to buck or hooch, if I knew what they taste like.
