I was looking at what my local library had to offer through E-books (which isn't much in this vein). What about The Farseer Trilogy? It wouldn't cost anything (which is a plus because I'm just jumping in), but I want to make sure it's not going to completely throw me off the genre.

I started reading it not long ago. Only like 25% into the first book. So far so good, but I am probably not the best resource. It has great reviews. I mainly picked it up because I wanted a fantasy series, but wasn't ready to commit to something like 10 books like most of the all time great fantasy series are.
