re: The problems, straight from the horse's mouth

Yes, the OL has played so poorly that I can't imagine it would be much worse if Cush were at center, Clapp moved to guard and Deculus received lots of reps and snaps in the Troy game at tackle. Also, I hope Magee sees a lot more action at guard as well.
Maybe Canada can find a somewhat productive combination of offensive linemen, since Grimes surely can't.

quote:O Really. No shite Sherlock.
O says there were "a couple of miscommunication" in #LSU OL pass blocking. Yup! quote:O more on #LSU pass blocking: "Got to win one on one blocks. You start keep tight end and RB to chip, you've got 3 WRs in the routes." Yup again! 1: We really aren't there blocking-wise. That's what's holding us back the most. We were forced to keep 6-7 on passing plays to block. That limits our receiving options significantly, and we couldn't even block a five man rush half the time. As CEO said: "Not ready to make a living out of that." CEO made an adjustment to block for Danny better this week, and it didn't work; HOWEVER, he sees that and is going to adjust again. At least it's something. Point is this: we know the OL is kind of the biggest problem. Thankfully, it seems the coaches know this, too. It's not just about eliminating useless pre-snap motions. It's about fixing the lack of blocking--or working around it. I *holds breath* actually expect something a little bit different this Saturday offensively. Troy is a good chance to try some adjustments. That's my two cents' worth.
Semjase been sayin this for three years now.
Once yet again. It doesn't matter how big and strong they are individually. You've got to have 5 OL's that all know their reads and assignments. All 5 have to be on the same page and ours aren't. They haven't been since Grimes has been OL Coach. He's the constant. He recruits OL's that can't execute his scheme and can't process information quickly.
What's that saying? The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.
Not much can be done now outside of "Simplifying Things" as Canada just said. I distinctly remember saying this right after Canada was hired. I said just wait till he gets a look at our OL in Spring practice. He'll be doing this. ( )
It's all playing out just as I expected it would.
Don't expect much improvement until 2018 when the OL overhaul begins. O and Canada full well know what has to be done!

Pretty sure every coaching staff in the SEC knows this, too.

"I really really do not like coach o"
He may not like you either, but a lot of people on here think you are just swell.

We are thin but more importantly, we are poorly coached on the offensive line

blatant problem areas were just not being addressed
My god I feel the same way. We literally only needed a way to dump the ball when there were zone blitzes or safeties playing WAY too close. Nope. No change. "Beat them at their own game and make them bend "....and here we are

Well I thought the whole point of why teams go 4 wide and spread out is to move defensive players out of the box and into coverage forcing them to cover/tackle in space.
That was the propaganda narrative used to sell the "new" offense. Well now, after spring, the summer workouts, and 4 games, the OL still can't figure out the blocking, and the "new" offense ain't working. So now they have to change the narrative to keep the heat off their asses. It's the same principle in dealing with salesman using different excuses when the new car you just bought ain't working, and they're trying to get away from honoring the warranty.
