Because those valuations are based on things like market share, growth, projected growth, new LA stadium, TV contracts, etc.
The league and individual franchises will begin to lose value if the projected growth fails to meet expectations. However, the current trend isn't merely falling short of projections, but showing a serious regression. It's a bubble that has burst, but people refuse to admit it.
The NFL will be fine because player salaries are under control, and their stadiums are publicly subsidized. Most teams will still be very profitable, but value of the franchise might be slashed by hundreds of millions of dollars.
