The Supra will be a fine car and fill a segment, it just won't be winning any best in class awards or crushing the competition at the track at its price point anymore if it's as discussed because that class has changed so drastically was my point.

Who is saying it will win awards or crush its competition? The unmodified 4th Gen Supra didn't either. That wasn't the goal then and it won't be the goal now. People who don't get that just don't get Toyota in general. They're not trying to win a HP or speed war with any of their vehicles. They're shooting for an overall experience. The goal with the 4th Gen was to build an all-around driver's car that had great balance and feel, was predictable, enjoyable and comfortable. Not to win races or set sales records. I expect that to be the same goal with the new one. Some people, just like back then, won't get it, but some will, and they'll love their cars. At the end of the day, Toyota will make a profit and the band will play on...
