That way of thinking makes things worse and is a lousy excuse to avoid donating to academics. ie negative feedback loop / reflexive feedback loop

so if an organization is poorly run, people should just continue to donate to that organization? Talk about a negative feedback loop!!!
I'd argue that the way you get the attention of leaders at any organization is with your wallet. Withhold donations and they'll take notice.
