I had a HS coach who was probably the best OL coach in the business at that level - simple concept of "hit and get back" - pop your opponent as you would on a run play except it's a one step move, then step backward and prepare to "hit and get back" again. This keeps the defender from getting 1-2 quick steps into the backfield and prevents the pocket from collapsing. What I see most OL players doing these days is immediately taking a back step to seemingly avoid "missing" on the first hit/contact. Problem with that is that all leverage is lost immediately and you're on your heels versus balls of your feet. Ask any good golfer what that does to your balance and power - same principle applies for blocking.
