I do basically agree with you, BUT, it's time for Aranda and Canada to earn their multi-million dollar paychecks. Aranda's defense is fast, talented, but thin at certain positions (be nice to get Lawrence back) and relying upon true freshmen a LOT. I would stack the line -- not only pass-blitz, but run-blitz as well. True, that will put pressure on our corners but they're good and can handle it. True, we'll get beat at times but this more aggressive scheme I think is the best that Aranda can do, given the personnel he has available.
Canada needs to put on his thinking cap and think of ways to be more unpredictable (I saw more unpredictability in the first two games than the MSU game.) He has to understand the O-line is average to above-average at best, and, he is going to have to rely upon true freshmen to some extent. Need more shorter passes and screens. I like the up-tempo mindset, and the shifts and motion, and if you want to call that "gimmicky," so be it... bring on the gimmicks. Also, I wouldn't mind seeing what Brennan can do, he has much more arm talent than Etling and maybe could back opposing teams away from stacking the line of scrimmage.
