My company is in Dallas and just announced that all management must be in Dallas by end of year. I have some friends dealing with the exact same thing.
Most have decided to rent an apartment and commute while the wife and kids stay back at the house until next summer.
Its far from ideal, but its only 9 months and between them coming down and you going back you will get to see them enough to be satisfied.
BTW if you're with State Farm and moving to that new campus in Richardson, its unreal.
