This kid must attend some awesome school for folks to suggest so strongly that her senior year experience drive the parents' career and location decisions.

Hell, most kids in Louisiana would be better off if the family moved out of state (except MS) for school.

If you move around a lot this isn't a big deal. If she's going to be a senior next year, that means she's been with this group of friends since what, third grade?

I'd leave it to her. If she really wants to graduate with these people she's known, tell her you'll make every effort to accommodate that, but that it might not be possible.

FWIW, the summer before my senior year, my father took a job in another city. We spent several weekends there that summer looking at houses, but I really wasn't psyched about moving my last year. They decided to let me finish where I was. During the school year, one of my close friend's mother moved away. He moved in with us until we went off to college.
