The length of the "2x4 bracing" sections in the photo below will be around 24 inches, I'm guessing right now, I haven't measured, but that's probably a pretty good guess.

people dont understand hoe stong some anchors really are. the concrete shears before the anchor pulls out.

Instead of doing what you have, why not create a standalone frame from whatever brick wall goes up to to as far down as you can go, then put in 2 cross braces. Total of 3 2x4's and 5 minutes of labor
