yes, they all need help to compete for titles. that's why there are superteams. that's the whole point of the exercise in my mind though....not who is the most talented, but which guys are the best foundational pieces.
if you choose Thompson, you get all time shooting and great perimeter defense. you still need a creator and you still need a rim protector.
to me, i'd rather start with an elite creator or elite rim protector. i think it's easier to find good shooting and competent wing defense as a complement to those skills than the other way around. but that's just me.
