Pretty much the norm for that size house in nicer areas close to the centers of Dallas or Houston. Big city living is different, and the DFW and Houston metros are 2 of the biggest in the country.

That may be true where you live but in many cities, like where I live, that affords typical suburbia around 1,500 square feet or a condo in the city around 900 square feet.
