And some do precisely the opposite.

You make some valid points. This is not personal about you.

My beef is with fans who refuse to acknowledge that he's done a good job. I mean, don't we want a coach who is doing a good job? Won't having a coach who is doing a good job attract the kind of recruits we all want to come to LSU? If you answer yes to both, yet refuse to acknowledge that O is doing a good job thus far, what exactly are you trying to do?

There are plenty of skeptics out there on O and that's fine. The best thing for LSU is for O to prove the skeptics wrong, which won't happen overnight. But my god, give the man a chance and acknowledge that he has done well thus far. You don't need to be a "pumper" but we really don't need a bunch of fans dissing the coach for what each passing day seems to suggest is their disappointment in the decision to hire him.

O should and does have a short leash. But let's get behind him and give him that leash.

I think he's done a good job so far, to a degree. I'm not in the same camp as the OP and some others who have posted in this thread though.

I'll admit that the team looked very focused as soon as Orgeron took over, but that happens to a lot of teams when the head coach or manager is replaced. I do believe however, that even if Miles was still in charge, LSU would have finished with the same won/loss record as O did and perhaps would have even won the Florida game.

Orgeron should be given credit for shortening the practices and keeping the players fresh for the games and changing the offensive philosophy.

On the other hand, like SportTiger1 posted, losing 7 of the top 10 Louisiana recruits is unheard of in recent history. It's disheartening (at least to me) for all the players who have left the program the past 6 months or so and now with all the suspensions, that's paints a bad picture.

Orgeron has done some very good things as the head coach, but some things aren't so good, in my opinion.

I'd give him a B on his overall performance the past 11 months.

Why are you so consumed with getting fans to see things your way one game into the season? We don't know anything now. I'd at least wait until we play someone with a pulse.

Yeah if he'd stunk up the joint vs BYU his critics would've been out in full force. Such is the burden of being a head coach in major college football. All of them are under the same type of scrutiny.

Also, he doesn't need to be patted on the back for not stinking up the joint vs BYU. We're LSU, they're BYU. We were supposed to look dominant. You don't get credit for what you're supposed to do, taking from the Chris Rock bit.

Don't know what "give him a chance" means. I have no bearing on whether or not he gets a chance. He's the coach, he's acquired his chance. And if he produces results I'll acknowledge that.
