Your language is one of a Marxist/socialist. We The People allow the federal government to take of the fruits of our labor to provide and protect certain things. The Federalist Papers, The Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights are great reading materials if you're confused on how this deal is supposed to work.
