Color me shocked or sheltered, but I was unaware that Nick Brosette was the all-time LHSAA career rushing leader. I heard this on the Coach O show just now.
Looking up that info online, I found the following list:
Louisiana High School Football's All-time Rushing Leaders:
8704 yards Nick Brossette University
2010 - 2014 *played as an 8th grader
8661 yards Kenny Hilliard Patterson
2007 - 2010
8327 Yards Trey Hargrave Lake Arthur
2012-2016 *played as an 8th grader
8048 yards Germaine Willians Ascension Cath
1986 - 1989
7833 yards Cecil Collins Leesville
1992 - 1995
7594 yards Anthony Thomas Winnfield
1993 - 1996
I've heard of all of them but Trey Hargrave, #3 on the list. Not much info to find online about him. I found a MaxPreps and HUDL link, but no 247 or other recruiting service profile. I'm guessing since he is pretty undersized (5'7") and from a small school (Lake Arthur), but just shocked that I couldn't find ANY orther info. Would guess he would at least get a look at Div II or Div III school or JUCO, if he was even interested.
Anybody know the full story there?
Yes, this is a stretch of an LSU recruiting topic due to 4 of 6 on the list being former Tigers. Anthony Thomas to Michigan at a time when most big time recruits were leaving the state.

Pretty big asterisk.

8th grade simply shouldn't be counted. Most of the schools don't have an 8th grade on campus.

Man, I played against both The Diesel and A-Train.

A-Train did that in only 3 seasons as well.

He was the Offense for his team.
Did it say how many carries he had for those yards?
Probably 4K.

No Garry James?
I know it's crazy right and Dalton Hilliard. He started as an 8th grader for Patterson. It's crazy the numbers he put up that he isn't in the top 5 or so.

They all played in 3A or below right? Another thing to point to when people discount lower classification players.

Man, Kenny Hilliard was a monster in high school. Had a good career with us but tbh I was expecting him to become an LSU legend.

So nobody has any info on what the deal is/was with Hargrave? I just assumed like all the other names on that list that there would have been some buzz about the #3 all time leading career rusher in LA. Apparently there is something more to the story there.
