I was homeschooled up until I went to A&M. Made sense for my family growing up because we moved so often with the military.
Most folks don't have a clue I or my siblings were homeschooled unless we tell them, though. Got the same range or weird/socially awkward to normal folks that any other school system does.
And us well-adjusted homeschooled folks made fun of the weirdos growing up, too

my cousin (chem eng) homeschools his kids.
wife's pretty sharp and their kids play sports year round, go to camps, etc.
plenty of socially awkward kids who go to regular school. we as a society place way too much weight on "social this/social that". really just a bunch of horseshite.
weird parents raise weird kids, regular parents raise regular kids. nothing to see here.

Wife and I homeschooled all 3 of our kids, social issues with my kids, no issues. They did more outside the home than I ever did in school. One graduated LSU, other 2 went straight into the work force. All have been well adjusted.
