The issue of "trust" and D. Craig keeps surfacing, directly or indirectly.
what happened that led to his firing?
where is he now?

Not sure exactly but we lost Travis Etienne and Marvin Wilson last year late in the process simply because somebody else out hustled us. I have the mental image of CEO talking to his recruiting staff repeatedly about these guys and them assuring him everything was A-OK... up until they committed elsewhere and then he fired DC and reassigned JJ. I dont think he trusted their work ethic for recruiting.

For one thing I don't think he was a very good WR's coach. Tony Ball sucked when he took over after Henry went to the NFL. I don't think there was any improvement under Dameyune.

The final straw happened on February 1st - signing day. LSU had a JUCO WR committed since 2016. I think it was Stephen Guidry. On signing day the LSU staff found out Guidry would not qualify. Craig was not only recruiting Guidry but he was promoted to recruiting coordinator when CEO was named interim HC.

One of the main responsibilities of a RC is keeping up with prospects - especially commits - grades. To not know a JUCO player is not going to qualify until signing day and burning a scholarship offer is a BIG no-no.
