Media companies

Time to break them up. Media consolidation is a clear threat to the public good. One company with an agenda shouldn't be allowed to create an echo chamber loaded with fake information. This goes for both sides of the aisle.
How are these not oligopolies?
Currently 6 companies own 90% of media in this country. Not that hard to see why they all cover the same shite with the same narrative.
It's been done with Oil Companies...it's been done with Telecom...time to do it with media.

Hadn't thought about it, but interesting point.
Think about this- the left can no longer make a profit from media. So left leaning media dinosaurs are bought by highly profitable non-media companies. Then propped up so they can continue "reporting". And it's never a conservative buying CNN or NYT....they don't have a need for a $$ losing venture.

On the surface, yes but most of these are conglomerates that own the entire process...for instance Comcast makes content, has networks (NBC) to distribute that content, and then owns the cable and internet service provider for a plurality of households.

There has never been a better time alternative media sources. Just start supporting them and turn off corporate mainstream news.
RT, The Intercept, Breitbart, Infowars, The Young Turks, Democracy Now, all have large growing audiences...

Oh I do. I check probably 20 or 30 news sites a day just to get caught up. I'm more worried about my grandparents, parents, and just your run of the mill working person who slaves all day and then comes home and only has time for a few minutes of "news". Not their fault they have a life and have been trained to trust what is reported by these companies.
Something has to be done. This is on both sides of the aisle. It's all just straight propaganda.
