That's because Fox is the mouthpiece of the republican party and orders came on down from the establishment.

I was a rabid Never Trumper at the time and I thought that was complete bullshite and the very definition of counter productive.

Saying it didn't work is putting it mildly, it backfired bigly and sparked a rebellion against Fox News that hurt ratings bigly and started the tailspin that destroyed Megan Kelly's career, and emboldened Trump and his supporters against the GOP.

Until such a candidate comes along, under no circumstances should milk toast republicans be the standard bearer at all. They are guaranteed losers that does not have the strength and determination to fight back against the media and leftist narratives.

Trump is the best we have right now in that regard.
