The answer is clearly the opposite and I would imagine most coaches would agree. Assuming no one gets hurt they have a live game under your belt give you a head start on whoever you are playing next. Unless BYU is drastically changing their game plan LSU won't gain much from scouting that one game.
The out come may have been the same later in the year with WSU, NEB, and TEX. All three of those teams had a bare cupboard and were in total rebuild mode.
