Short term it's bad. Long term, maybe not.

This is a subject that has been taboo for a long time. Trump is taking it head on. Trump's history has shown that his negative cycles are pretty short lived and he ends up having a stronger positive cycle.

At some point, all he has to do is remind everyone that he was a misogynist, then a Russian sympathizer, then a hothead with his finger on the nuclear button, then a racist, etc., etc.

That will resonate with the people.
