Damn metal flap got bent downwards some. Now can't get plug any chargers into it. I have best buy protection plan but don't want to go swapping crap out and starting over again. Any suggestions?

YouTube is usually your friend. There's a high probability that soldering is involved since most port defects require a swap.

For starters, what phone are we talking about here?

Go to one of those independent cell phone Doctor shops. Had a similar issue with previous 6P port and they just changed the bottom piece out somehow in an hour,

I'd say just go to Best Buy and swap it out. It's the best thing to do long term.

You can try to use a tiny jeweler's screwdriver to bend the connector back, but you risk breaking it off or weakening it so it breaks off later.

Otherwise you'd have to open it up and replace the part (buying new port, soldering, etc.).

They said they could for $70. Said it was 50/50 chance it would work.
