Keep telling yourself that. The talent gap isn't quite as big as many of y'all make it out to be. This isn't the BYU of the WAC/MWC days. We have enough talent to give LSU all you can handle if your team overlooks us, just like with Wisconsin and Notre Dame.

just like with Wisconsin

Are you calling BYU a top 10 team nationally?

You're underselling LSU's talent. Go watch the Wisconsin 2016 game and see LSU's defense wear down after the offense couldn't sustain a drive to say their lives. Or watch the defense collapse against Notre Dame in 2014 when our DC had already signed on with Texas A&M.

I'll give BYU for beating a team like Mississippi State, but the Bulldogs weren't very good last year at all. They got into a dogfight with UMASS after all. And yes, they gave LSU a fight in Tiger Stadium after the offense failed to put them away in the second half. It happened all the time under Miles and actually happened the year before against Mississippi State.

Under Orgeron in 2016 the offense opened up and LSU actually blew out teams like Missouri, Arkansas, and Texas A&M as they should. Under Canada the offense should be even more lethal.

I don't expect the defense to drop off much even with the loss of such great players. There's just that much talent on that side of the ball. The most amount of drop off I could see would be like the 2012 defense after the 2011 defense.

In the end, BYU will fight their tails off and put on a great show. I think the Tigers' defense will be too much and the offense will be able to score enough (I suspect a fair amount of field goals) to keep the game out of reach.

Just tell me this and if you can I'll start to believe that you guys can hang around for 4 quarters.

How will BYU create a running game against this LSU defense? Or do you actually think that BYU can find a way to rush the ball? If so then you guys will have a great shot in the end, if not things will get extremly difficult for Mangum. I'll hang up and listen.

Upon what do you base your belief that your talent level is good enough to beat LSU? LSU's recruiting classes are always ranked in the top 10 and LSU currently has 58 players on an NFL roster versus 18 for BYU.

Comparing BYU to Wisconsin and Notre Dame is a red herring for the same reasons. Not to mention Wisconsin and Notre Dame play a much tougher schedule annually and are accustomed to a higher level of competition.

Wisconsin was a top-10 team last year. BYU well, wasn't and won't be this year. Sorry to burst your bubble.
