I'm not sure why Jon wouldn't be rightful heir regardless. I guess a true heir needs to be born inside wedlock? It kind of seems b.s. since the Lannisters killed a bunch of Rob's bastards on that very reason.
I guess I'm saying is they may have tried to make it seem like a big deal, but in all fairness Jon would be the most legitimate heir regardless.
