6 months on a true hiatus...I mean not even looking at a club or touching a golf ball.

I'm about to go a year doing the same, so I've been looking at ways to keep my swing up when I can't play

Started when I was a kid. Played almost daily through college (played college golf). Was around scratch. Got really burned out.

Quit for 3 years. Picked it back up and didn't lose ball striking that much but short game was shite. Lost about 4 strokes.

Quit playing again for 5 years due to career, moving around, golf is fricking expensive, etc.

Just started playing again about 2 weeks ago. First round back was at squire creek from the tips. Birdied the first hole, lol. Probably shot about 90. Think I had 8 or 9 three putts. Hell I three putted from 15 feet. Did almost ace 12 though.

I'd say stamina and short game have really suffered to the point of me noticing I'm just not a good golfer anymore. I also don't have the desire to spend hour after hour on short game anymore.

I will usually do this when duck season starts but my hiatus is only around 4 months. I mean not even touch a club like you from November till maybe early February. I don't know why I do this either because generally I am playing pretty good in October because the weather is starting to cool off so I play more since there isn't really much hunting in October cause I don't bowhunt. I generally come back in Feb shooting at least 5-6 strokes worse since it takes my short game/putting a while to get back in the groove.
