Back when Jefferson Parish was blowing up in population a similar thing, but on a larger scale, was happening. In the mid-70s, the east bank of Jefferson Parish had only two high schools. Riverdale for girls and East Jefferson for boys. In the year before Bonnabel (the new boy's high school) opened, EJ had over 5,000 students. It was the largest all boys high school in the country.

Actually, they are planning to put a school in Madisonville.
