MT was way too raw. Regardless of the trainer, he was never going to devote his life to training. Probably the most gifted fighter tho. Ali would have worked him on technique.

Tyson is a once in a lifetime kind of fighter. Really ashamed that he could not find another trainer after Cus to contain and channel him.
The slimy vultures could not wait to swoop in after Cus, then Jacobs, passed away.
No one ever ran through a boxing division and demolished it like Tyson did. It was fun to watch. I am glad he has turned himself around.

It was a joy to watch him pop on the scene and move up the ranks back in the days of the HBO tournament . Boxing was so great back then compared to today. My dad, my brother and I used to get together to watch all those fights, then when he moved on to PPV and the big title fights we got the family together for every one. It was an amazing experience to know my generation had its own Ali-level fighter and you knew you were watching something special. Then there was the Buster Douglas fight. I had it taped and watched that knockout SO many times. The end of an era.
Watching guys like Leonard, Hagler, Hearns, Duran, etc. was just amazing as well.
