When my girlfriend used it she was brushing up on Spanish, so the foreigners would speak in English and she'd respond in Spanish. You can do it however you want though, it's basically bilingual pen pals.

This is great! I feel sorry for the people on the other end trying to understand my broken nonsense.
I just feel like a jerk because I'm telling some kid in the middle of who knows where about how I'm traveling to Spain. What a crazy connected world.
