If he doesn't have any direction in this "briefing" and it's just a speech about drugs = bad and look at how great I am, I'll be severely disappointed.

This doesn't need to be stumpish, like you said, it hits home for lots of folks and needs to be handled in a serious tone with real answers for people.
However I am afraid that big pharma has too much of a hold on DC.
We shall see.
