If you going to throw a gold spoon over grass beds use the reel you have with the fastest retrieve. You really should be burning arse pulling that thing over the grass.
I learned that from an old coonass in a flatboat with folded down Air Bourdreauxs and a flannel shirt at the dock. Me and buddy came back with 2 reds, him and his buddy had 10. We asked him what he caught them on? He said a gold spoon, we were like that's what we were throwing! He said, "yeah but let me tell ya, when you pull that thing back ya got to burn arse with it, yall go back out and try dat". So we went back out, "burned arse with it" and caught our limit.
