Unless your truck is a dually, you'll exceed the manufacturer's maximum allowance for towing capacity for the entire vehicle combo.
Folks do that every day and get away with it.
Cops very rarely stop people for exceeding the towing capacity unless it's an egregious case (a Tacoma towing a four axle 30k boat trailer).
If you get in a wreck, even if it's not your fault, it could hypothetically come back to haunt you.
I wouldn't do it personally because the risk:reward doesn't work for me.
If you do it, you have to plan your braking well ahead of time. Good luck.
