I used to chip with 9i and use a putting motion. Sometimes still do this for short greenside chips.

My usual method is feet close together, slightly open stance, pressure on the left foot, very slight shaft lean, straight back easy swing and follow through.

One thing that helped, and I stole this from Meandmygolf YouTube channel, is to act like your putting a sword into your belt on the follow through. Hard to describe and I'm having trouble finding the video, but it keeps me from squeezing the club on the downswing/follow through and has really improved my chipping. Stopped me from flipping and jamming the club into the ground. I also hover the clubhead before swinging to keep my hands loose.
