Marx had a distinct evolution of society and Russia went straight from monorchial-agricultural to socialist and missed the capitalist portion of the evolution. this meant that its society wasn't really in the proper position to accept communism and it just perverted the system and created, essentially, new monarchies

Yeah, I have heard that one as well. True believers just can't accept failure on an objective level.
