I remember as a kid circa 1980 watching a Tara-Broadmoor game that packed Memorial Stadium...at least 20,000 were there.
My dad always tells the story of the stadium being packed for that game. That was his senior year at Tara. Cross-neighborhood rivals both undefeated.
I was about 10 and my dad brought me to that game. We lived in the SE part of town, which was newly developed at the time, so we had no rooting interest...we just showed up because it was a big game and since I was just getting into sports, it was cool to be part of such a big crowd.
As for the game itself....my memories are fuzzy, but maybe you can tell me if I am right or wrong based on your dad's stories. I think Broadmoor won. I believe that they jumped out to a huge lead....maybe like 42-7...and Tara scored some garbage time TD's and the score ended up something like 42-27. Would be curious to see if I am remembering it correctly...

I think that about sums up how the game went. Couldn't tell you the score though. My dad shouldn't have been a part of that Tara team. They lived in Cedarcrest. All of his siblings went to Woodlawn and right before he was starting high school they switched the districts around because of the expansion into SE BR, so instead of sitting out of sports for a year by going to Woodlawn, he went to Tara.
