Memorial > Olympia
I remember as a kid circa 1980 watching a Tara-Broadmoor game that packed Memorial Stadium...at least 20,000 were there. Now with the sorry state of public schools in this town, and the location of the stadium, there are games that barely draw 200 fans. It's sad.

Most I've ever seen at a local hs football game was a couple years back, STA v. EA crammed 12,000 people standing room only to watch that game decide a division title and a playoff spot. St. Amant's population is only just over 10,000 people. Gonzales has only 10,000 as well. That means more than half of the people who live in those two towns was in attendance. One of the loudest and most intense football games I've ever witnessed.

My dad always tells the story of the stadium being packed for that game. That was his senior year at Tara. Cross-neighborhood rivals both undefeated.
